POST 16 – Support and Guidance
All Year 11 pupil’s complete an EHCP review at the start of the Spring Term in readiness for transition to Further Education and training. The Post 16 Coordinator will support pupils to research, apply and visit a range of local colleges (large and small) to make decisions. Parents and carers are encouraged to be involved in the ongoing discussions and meetings relating to all aspects of transition from School to College or further training.
The Post 16 Coordinator also liaises with SENCOs, Learning Support Leads, Course tutors, application and enrolment staff throughout the process from the start to end of Year 11. They also liaise with all teaching staff, the Headteacher and Assistant Head in supporting the pupils to attain the relevant qualification profile for application to Further Education and training.
